Welcome to ShareMyPlate! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ShareMyPlate mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by ShareMyPlate ("we", "our", or "us").
By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the Service.
1. Description of Service
ShareMyPlate is a nutrition tracking application that uses artificial intelligence to analyze meal photos and provide nutritional information, health scores, and personalized recommendations. Our AI food expert helps you understand your meals and work toward your health goals.
2. Account Registration
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Promptly update any changes to your information
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
3. Subscriptions and Payments
3.1 Free and Paid Tiers
ShareMyPlate offers both free and paid subscription tiers:
- Snack (Free): 3 meal analyses per day, basic AI analysis, 3-day photo history, and connect with friends
- Gourmet: 150 analyses per month, advanced AI, chat with food advisor, menu scanning, photo history, and connect with friends
- Foodie: Unlimited analyses, premium AI, chat with food advisor, menu scanning, personalized meal suggestions, photo history, and connect with friends
3.2 Billing
- Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
- Refunds are handled according to Apple's refund policies
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Upload content that is harmful, offensive, or violates others' rights
- Attempt to reverse engineer or extract source code from the app
- Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
- Share your account credentials with others
5. User Content
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, comments, ratings). By uploading content, you grant us a license to use, store, and process it to provide the Service.
5.2 Content Guidelines
User content must not contain:
- Illegal or harmful material
- Personal information of others without consent
- Content that violates intellectual property rights
- Spam or misleading information
5.3 Content Removal
We may remove content that violates these Terms without notice.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content (excluding user content), features, and functionality are owned by ShareMyPlate and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

By using ShareMyPlate, you acknowledge and agree to the following important disclaimers:
Best Effort Analysis
Our food and menu analyses are provided on a best-effort basis using AI technology. Results may not always be accurate or complete.
Image Recognition Limitations
What is detected in a photo may not accurately represent the actual food, its ingredients, or nutritional content. Lighting, angles, and image quality can affect results.
Your Responsibility
You are responsible for verifying food safety and suitability. When in doubt, always ask staff about ingredients and preparation methods.
8. AI-Generated Content
Our AI food expert provides nutritional estimates and recommendations based on image analysis. You further acknowledge that:
- AI estimates may vary in accuracy depending on photo quality and food visibility
- Results are for informational and general wellness purposes only
- You should verify important nutritional information independently
- AI recommendations do not constitute medical, dietary, or nutritional advice
9. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShareMyPlate and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
- We may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
- Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration.
